Services

Individual therapy sessions are offered on a weekly basis at the same time and place each week, term time only. As far as is possible this time and space remains the same throughout the therapy process. In each session, there will be a variety of materials for play and creativity available. The space is free for the individual to use how they wish. They may choose to draw, paint or create, to talk, to play or simply to sit and be with the therapist and see what emerges in their mind. There is no right or wrong way to use the sessions. All sessions are confidential and adhere to strict relevant safeguarding policies. This means that nothing is shared outside of the session unless there is a genuine concern for the safety of the client or anyone else, which may require further action. This will be discussed in the initial sessions.

Therapy Sessions

As a parent myself, I understand the challenges faced in this role. Therapy with a child can be greatly enhanced by the support of their parent or carer. No child comes in isolation, and a parent or carer needs to be held in order to hold their child. Parent/carer support can be offered as needed; weekly, fortnightly or monthly and can be online or in person. This is to be negotiated as part of a therapy plan or can become a stand-alone piece of work.

Parent and Carer Support

Sometimes it is helpful just to have a listening ear; a sounding board offering ideas and signposting when you are unsure of where to turn. I offer one-off consultations of an hour and a half in length for parents, carers or older young people, to establish the issues, think about what has already been tried and to try and navigate a path forwards, which may or may not end up in a therapy route. This can be helpful to think through a problem, or just to be heard when it all feels like a muddle.

Online Consultations

All clinicians working in the therapy profession must access regular clinical supervision to meet the requirements of their professional registration. I offer clinical supervision to any qualified therapists to put another mind to the work. This can be requested on a weekly, fortnightly or monthly basis, depending on need and can be offered online or in person.

Clinical Supervision

Teaching is a rewarding career but it can be stressful, overwhelming and emotionally challenging. I can offer online or in person supervision to teachers to help to think about the emotional impact of the role and how to understand and support the children in their care. Sometimes it takes a step outside of the classroom to be able to get perspective and some breathing space to think about what unconscious communications might be behind the behaviour of pupils in the larger classroom environment.

Teacher Supervision

I offer supervision to trainee therapists at any stage of their training. This can be to meet their course requirements or as an additional perspective to the mandatory course supervision. This can be accessed online or in person.

I offer all services on a term-time only basis, following the term times set out by Bristol City Council. The term breaks are not charged for.
